Turkey Burger Helper

Ingredients:

  • 1-pound Lean Ground Turkey
  • 1 small Yellow Onion – Diced
  • 1 cup shell macaroni
  • 1/2 red bell pepper – Finely chopped
  • 3 Cups Low Sodium Chicken Broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 3 heaping tablespoons Diced Tomatoes
  • 1-1/2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Directions:

  1. Begin by cooking Turkey in a 3 quart sauté pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the onions to the Ground Turkey, stirring until meat is nicely browned.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, diced red bell pepper, salt, garlic powder, and chili powder.
  4. Add in the chicken broth, and bring the mixture to a boil. Once it’s boiling, stir in the uncooked macaroni.
  5. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is soaked up.
  6. Stir in the cheese, remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes before servings.
