INGREDIENTS
- 12 oz. Smoked Turkey Sausage, crumbled
- 3 tbsp olive oil, divided
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper (or to taste)
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 – 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes
- 1 tbsp dry red wine
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
- 1/4 tsp dried basil
- 2-4 oz. Prepared Spaghetti
DIRECTIONS
- Add 1 tbsp olive oil to a large pan and heat over medium heat.
- Add smoked sausage, and while stirring, cook for 4-5 minutes, or until nicely browned.
- Add the remaining 2 tablespoon of olive oil, garlic, onion, and crushed red pepper to the pan and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes, then add diced tomatoes, wine, water, oregano, and salt, then stir. Cover the pan with a lid to prevent splatter, keeping it open a crack to let steam out.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened. This will take around 15-20 minutes.
- Add parsley and basil and stir to combine.
- Toss prepared spaghetti into the sauce
- Garnish with grated Parmesan or Romano Cheese and serve.
