Healthy Oatmeal/Chocolate Chip Cookies

Low Fat – no Oil

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 Cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1/2 Cup semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Cup Rolled Whole Oats
  • 1 Cup Unbleached Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Granulated White Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Dark Brown Sugar – tightly packed
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 tsps Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Vanilla


Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. 
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Stir applesauce, vanilla, brown sugar, and white sugar together in a bowl. – Mix well.
  • Add flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon into the bowl and stir into applesauce mixture.
  • Add rolled oats and chocolate chips.
  • Stir until combined.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheets. – makes about 10. (Note – cookies don’t spread much so you may want to flatten down a bit using a spatula)
  • Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden, about 20-25 minutes.
  • Allow cookies to cool before removing from the baking sheet.
